Router Setup Information
This document was designed to help you set up your Router. We have instructions for the most popular routers. If your router isn't listed, you still may find this site beneficial. We have 2 different DSL types. You will need to know if you have a Static IP Address or a Dynamic (DHCP) IP Address, to configure your router. If you have a Motorola or Next Level DSL modem or gateway, you most likely have a Dynamic (DHCP) IP Address.
You must first set your computer to obtain an IP Address automatically in Network settings.
Setup with Windows XP
Go to Control Panel, double click Network Connections. Right Click on your Local Area Connection and left click Properties. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select Obtain an IP Address Automatically; be sure Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically is selected also. Click OK and click OK again.
Setup with Windows Vista
Go to Control Panel, double click Network and Sharing Center. Click Manage Network Connections. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IPv4) and select Obtain an IP Address Automatically; be sure Obtain DNS server Address Automatically is selected also. Click OK and click OK again.

DSL users with a Static IP will need to know the information in the table. This information would have been given to you at the time of installation.
