How to use Brandenburg Telephone Webmail
-
After you login, you should be looking at your inbox. You should see the
number of messages and the following headings From,
Subject, Date and Size.
-
If you click on the From heading, it should
sort your message by who sent the message.
-
If you click on Subject You should see your
message displayed.
-
Date shows the date of the message and Size
shows
you the size of the message.
-
You will see a checkbox on the left used to mark messages for deletion.
How to delete messages
-
From your inbox, put a check in the box at the left next to the messages
you want to delete. You do not have to mark one message at a time. You
can mark as many messages as you want to delete.
-
After marking the messages you want deleted, click on the Delete Selected
Messages from Mail Server button at the bottom. (messages will not actually
be deleted until you log out)
-
If you do not delete your messages, they stay on our servers. This is OK
for temporary storing of e-mail but if you have e-mail you want to keep,
we suggest using Netscape Messenger or Outlook Express (or another e-mail
program) and download the e-mail to your computer.
Attachments
-
The current e-mail attachment and mailbox sizes still apply.
-
A virus can still be spead through webmail. If you get an e-mail with an
attachment and you are not sure what the attachment is, you are probably
going to be better off deleting it instead of opening it. If you see any
attachments with 2 extensions (like goner.scr.pif
) chances are it is a virus and should be deleted immediately. When
in doubt, delete the message. Better Safe than sorry.
