GENERAL
INFORMATION
EVERYONE has a chance to win at Majestic !
In the Outfit of Choice categories, clothes are not judged, so you never have to spend large sums on expensive clothes. Gymnastics are not recommended on the stage.
In Beauty, attire and modeling are not judged, just Facial Beauty and Personality. Contestants can compete in a Beauty dress, crowning dress, or other.
Interview is judged in a Majestic T-shirt and shorts. Contestants are judged on personality and overall appearance. Interviews are private (one contestant and the panel of judges). Parents can interact with the little ones to get them to show personality (patty cake, blink their eyes, whatever).
We will use whichever of your scores is highest for Supreme (Outfit of Choice, Glitz or Natural Photogenic, Print Model, Swimwear, Composite or Interview). This will be added to your Beauty score. You may enter any of the optionals (you do not have to enter all) (we will use whichever score is the highest if you enter more than one of the optionals).
We normally use four judges, dropping your lowest score in each competition.
You never have to worry about one low score hurting you. We do not use
"circuit judges" or current "pageant Moms". We use judges
who are individuals with backgrounds in cosmetology, modeling, fashion design,
pageant coaching or directing (outside the children's pageant industry), drama,
or individuals who have previously competed. Our judges come from different
states. We work intensely with our judges making sure they understand the
scoring system and insuring they have received the same set of guidelines as
the contestants pertaining to attire, modeling, presentation, photogenic, hair
and makeup. We insure that our judges do not have any ties/relationships with
any of the contestants. After each pageant, we sit down with the tape from the
pageant and copies of the judges' score sheets and we judge the judges. We
understand that the judges are one of the most important aspects of the pageant
and we treat the responsibility of hiring good judges with the utmost care.
Original score sheets will be given out at nationals after the crowning ceremony.
Special Note: The director, Susan Padgett, is not a Coach, a Photographer, a Hair/Makeup person, nor does she have a child that is competing in pageants. As a contestant, you do not have to worry about conflicts of interest.
At Majestic, we spend hundreds of hours during the year searching out special
gifts for all of our contestants. Prizes include custom garment bags,
jackets, duffle bags, porcelain dolls, radios, 35 mm cameras, boom boxes,
oodles of Fisher Price toys, elegant jewelry, carousels, stuffed animals, race
cars, games, just to name a few of the items. It actually takes a truck
to haul it all. For crowning, it takes 48 feet of tables to display it
all. We try to make sure that each child receives gifts that are age and
gender appropriate.
