Many internet issues are solved with simple checks—first, restart your device (computer, router, or modem) by powering it off for a few seconds, then back on. If that doesn’t help, make sure all cords and cables are securely plugged in, since even a loose connection can cause major problems.
BBTEL suggests you keep your operating software and virus/malware software up-to-date.

Additional Tips:
No Internet
Internet Speed
- Check each device to determine if the problem is with your equipment.
- Turn off all your Internet connected devices.
- Unplug your router from the power source, wait 15 seconds and reconnect.
- Determine if another device is competing with your bandwidth by turning off all connected devices.
- If speed test results are in line with your subscribed package, consider upgrading to a package better suited for your Internet usage.
Other things to consider that may affect your Internet speed
- You may have a computer with a virus or malware. Update your protection software and scan your device.
- Close all applications; some applications may be using the Internet in the background, reducing the available bandwidth.
- Be sure your network is secure by changing your wireless passwords from time to time. An unwanted user may be using up your available bandwidth.
- Check other household devices that may interfere with your connection. These may include other wireless devices such as garage door openers, baby monitors, wireless security cameras, as well as fluorescent light fixtures, treadmills, microwave ovens, etc. Turn these devices off or move away from them.
- Computer and software updates can run automatically; schedule these automatic updates at a time when you or your family will most likely not be using the Internet.
- Computers will generally get slower over time; it may be time to upgrade your computer.
- From time to time, you may want to delete cookies and browser history from your computer.
- You may have just simply outgrown your current connection and may need to consider upgrading to a faster package.

Router Setup Guide
Router Placement is essential to good WI-FI coverage. WI-FI signals can be blocked or scattered by walls, wiring inside of walls, other electronics, etc.
Routers should be centrally located inside the home and a few feet off the ground. Keep your router out in the open rather than hidden away in a cabinet or closet. Ideally, your router should not be placed near other electronics, metal objects, or even fish tanks.
WI-FI interference from inside your home or neighbors’ can also be a factor. Consider changing your router’s channel or repositioning the router’s antenna(s), if available. Coverage issues can be remedied by adding additional WI-FI access points or repeaters. If you have higher speed packages, it is recommended to use a dual band router. If you are not getting good coverage, you may consider purchasing a newer, more powerful router. BBTELBlast WI-FI routers are safe and secure with a companion app for even more control. Starting at $11.95 per month, they include WI-FI access points with powerful antennas to meet the needs of any home or office.
